Cossatot River kayaking
5/22/2010
Elita and I drove on down to the Cossatot for a short paddle. She shuttled and I floated from Ed Banks to Sand Bar Campground. It was a fine day and a groovy little trip down this 2 mile section. The level was 4.0 on the USGS gauge which is an adequate level. We also visited the Cossatot State Park Visitor Center for the first time. It was pretty cool, but without visitors. We have been coming down here for 25 years and things have sure changed. One aspect that has not changed is the crappy logged out forest that surrounds the Cossatot corridor. What a waste of what could have been a beautiful area. Damn you Weyerhaeuser!
