Kings River Falls, Hawksbill Crag
3/25/2010
Elita and I took a short hike on this early Spring morning in the upper Buffalo area. We got to the Kings River Falls parking area around 8:30 a.m. and proceeded downstream. The temp was around 60, skies were cloudy. There was plenty of water flowing over the falls. This was our first visit. It was a 1.5 mile hike round trip. We then drove to Whitaker Point trail head and were on the trail about 10:15. No other people were there yet. This was also our first visit to the Hawksbill Crag as well. The hike there and back was about 2.8 total miles. It was a very windy day. We encountered throngs of hikers on the way out. We then drove to Ponca and then to Fayetteville and to the new Packrat, which is a very nice store.
